సేవే గమ్యం అనే నినదించే ఉత్తర అమెరికా తెలుగు సంఘం నాట్స్ న్యూయార్క్ లో ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేసింది. శిరిడిసాయి ఆలయం వద్ద ఏర్పాటుచేసిన ఈ ఉచిత వైద్యశిబిరానికి స్థానికంగా ఉండే భారతీయ వైద్యుల తమ సేవలను అందించేందుకు ముందుకొచ్చారు.. 73 మంది రోగులకు ఉచితంగా ఈ శిబిరంలో వైద్య సేవలు అందించారు. వీరిలో 42 మంది ఉచితంగా ప్లూషాట్స్ ఇచ్చారు. ఈ ప్లూ షాట్స్ ఎవరికి అవసరమనేది గుర్తించి డాక్టర్లు మాధురి అడబాల, దుర్గ మద్దినేని, ప్రవీణ్ పరుచూరి అందించారు.
డాక్టర్ క్రైగ్ పెర్లమ్యాన్, ప్రవీణ్ పరుచూరు, తరుణ్ వసిల్, భారతీ రెడ్డి, శుభా అట్లూరి, జ్యోతి జాస్తి, జానకి కానుమిల్లి, పూర్ణ అట్లూరి, నీల్ మండవ, దుర్గా మద్దినేతి, రాధా ఓలేటి, మధు కొర్రపాటికి ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరం నిర్వహాణలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. ఈ శిబిరానికి వచ్చిన రోగులకుడాక్టర్ క్రైగ్ పెర్లమ్యాన్, డాక్టర్ నీల్, మండవ, రాజశేఖర్ అల్లాడతో కలిసి రోగులకు అక్యుచెక్ తో పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించారు. షుగర్, బీపీ చెక్ చేయడంతో పాటు వారికి కావాల్సిన వైద్య సలహాలు అందించారు. 50 అక్యుచెక్ మిషన్లను ఉచితంగా రోగులకు పంపిణి చేశారు. తరుణ్ వాసిల్ ఉచితంగా ప్లూ షాట్స్ ను రోగులకు అందించారు.
అనుపమ మండవ 30 మందికి కంటి పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించి వారి సమస్యలు గుర్తించారు. వారికి విలువైన వైద్య సలహాలు అందించారు.
పది మంది రోగులకు మధుమేహం నియంత్రణలో లేదని డాక్టర్లు గుర్తించారు. మరికొందరి గుండె జబ్బు వచ్చే అవకాశాలను గుర్తించి డాక్టర్లు వారిని అప్రమత్తం చేశారు. తీసుకోవాల్సిన జాగ్రత్తలను సూచించారు.
నాట్స్ టీం సభ్యులు మూర్తి గులివెందల, పూర్ణ అట్లూరి, క్రిష్ణ వేణి, రాజ్ అల్లాడ ఈ నాట్స్ ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరం ఏర్పాటు.. పర్యవేక్షణలో కీలకంగా వ్యవహారించారు. విద్యార్థులు క్రిష్ణ సన్యాల్, మోక్ష పరుచూరి, సందీప్ ఓలేటి రోగుల వివరాలు నమోదు చేసి తమవంతు సేవలు అందించారు.
టీఎస్ సీఏ ప్రతినిధులైన రావు ఓలేటి, అశోక్ చింతకుంట, ముత్యాల వెంకటేష్, శ్రీలు ఈ ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరానికి తమవంతు సహకారం అందించారు. సాయి ఆలయంలో శిబిరం ఏర్పాటుకోసం శివ హరణ్, గౌరిలు కూడా ఈ శిబిరం కోసం తమ వంతు సాయం చేశారు.శ్రీ శిరిడిసాయి ఈ శిబిరానికి స్థలం ఇవ్వడంతో పాటు భోజన వసతి కూడా కల్పించింది. ఈ ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరానికి సహకరించిన ప్రతి ఒక్కరికి నాట్స్ తరపున ధన్యవాదాలు తెలిపింది.
“మిమ్మల్ని మీరు కనుగొనడానికి ఉత్తమ మార్గం ఏమిటంటే ఇతరుల సేవలో మిమ్మల్ని మీరు మరిచి పోవడమే ” అనే గాంధీ సూక్తితో నాట్స్ అడుగులు వేస్తుంది. అదే స్ఫూర్తితో ఉచిత వైద్య శిబిరాలను నిర్వహిస్తోంది.

Out of the total of 72 patients, they gave flu shots to 42 of the patients who needed them the most. The flu shots were administered by Drs. Madhuri Adabala, Durga Maddineni and Praveena Paruchuru.
All the patients had blood sugar and blood pressure checked and were examined by Internists, Drs. Craig Perlman, Praveena Paruchuru, Tarun Wasil, Bharati Reddy, Subha Atluri, Jyothi Jasti, Janaki Kanumilli,Purna Atluri, Neil Mandava, Durga Maddineni, Radha Voleti and Madhu Korrapati.
Accu check's were performed by Dr Craig Perlman and Dr. Neil Mandava with help from Rajasekhar Allada.
Endocrine specialist (Diabetolgist) Dr. Craig Perlman gave advise to all the diabetic patients and distributed over 50 blood sugar checking machines and dietary advise also was given to the patients.
The flu shots were donated by Dr. Tarun Wasil, past president of AAPIQLI.
There were 30 patients who had eye exams done by Dr. Anupama Mandava.
The camp was supervised by NATS team, Murty Gulivindala, Dr. Atluri Purna, Krishnaveni Reddy and Raj Allada
Student volunteers Krishna Sanyal, Moksha Paruchuri and Sandeep Voleti helped registering the patients.
Shri. Rao Voleti, Shri Ashok Chintakunta and Shri. Mutyala Venkatesh from TLCA and also Shri. Shiva Haran and Smt. Gowri from the Sai Temple provided extensive help throughout the camp. Shri. Shridi Sai temple provided food and space for the camp.
Today 10 new patients diagnosed with poorly controlled diabetes and a few patients with heart disease who were advised to seek further treatments with their primary medical doctor etc.
Finally, Dr. Madhu Korrapati, Chairman, NATS appreciated all the physicians and volunteers that it wouldn't be possible without them and thanked the Sai temple staff and volunteers for providing the facility and also delicious lunch and extended special thanks particularly, Smt. Gowri and Shri. Satyam Gulivindala.
