Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been awarded Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. The prestigious Padma awards awarded by the Indian Government are announced today. 86 years old ANR is always an evergreen performer who is a living book for young actors who want to learn acting. This young-at-heart man acted in over 150 films in his career of 67 years. Speaking about the latest award, he said "These awards were not there when I started acting. So I never expected this. I'm very happy about this and I hope this happiness shall increase my life span ".
ANR has received many coveted awards like Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Padma Bhushan Award, Padma Sri Award, Kalimamani, Raghupati Venkayya Award, Filmfare Awards (7 times) and the Kalidasu award granted by MP Government at national level. ANR has received Padma Sri and Padma Bhushan in the past.
Along with ANR, the legendary singer S.P.Balasubhramanyam was also awarded the Padma Bhushan.
