Pawan Kalyan Komaram Puli Review

Story:

Puli will be born under some “impossible” situations,to a tribal lady(Saranya) whose husband was a police officer. He will be killed by a don called saleem for some reasons.Later Puli also becomes a police officer who is totally a duty minded and determined.Puli is a kind of person who believes that police needs to be protected and also believes that his department lacks some discipline and ethics. He wants to bring the change within the department and make every policeman is respected by the public, not afraid of.During the course, once he happens to face the don called Al-Saleem(Manoj Bajpayi) due to no parking issue. And that little incident leads to many complications by which Puli suspects the Don for reacting so much for such a petty thing. Then Puli starts digging deep into the issue and gets to know that Al-Saleem is linked with a notorious terrorist called Nixon.

From then, both Puli and Al-Saleem keep attacking each other. Inbetween , Madhumati (Nikesha Patel) who happens to be an admirer of Puli and his dynamic acts. Her admiration and love makes Puli fall in her love trap and ends of tying the knot to her. Finally, how does Al-Saleem’s cruelty ends,What Puli does in that regards forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Pawan Kalyan as an IPS officer rocks the screen all through right from the beginning. Especially in few scenes where he challenges Manoj Bajpayi at the Interval Bang. Pawan looks so stylish and energetic as Police officer and also shown his mark of rendering the dialogues in a few emotional scenes. He is very impressive in action scenes for which he worked so hard as usually. He has shown a lot of variations in dialogue delivery by switching over to Telangana slang in between the dialogues. Police officer role perfectly suits him and that has clearly reflected in his body language. Debutante Nikesha Patel’s beauty scorches the screen and she has done complete justice to the role which she was offered. Her looks are pretty calorific in a few scenes especially when she tries to seduce Puli after their marriage. Even in a couple of songs, romance between Pawan and Nikesha is definitely an eye-candy for movie lovers. And Manoj Bajpayi did his best as the Don.His versatile acting skill makes us many of them feel that he is a perfect fit to that character. Last but not the least, its worth mentioning Saranya’s performance here who played Pawan’s mother in the film. She has done exceptionally well at the beginning of the story and also when she gets kidnapped by the villain. We can say that its the best performance by this lady in the recent past which would definitely put her in race for many awards for sure.

Other few important characters played by Nazer, Charan Raj, Girish Karnad are good.Though Ali’s comedy is not up to the mark and leaves a question in one’s mind that why such a ace comedian was chosen for such an un important role. May be S.J.Surya might have recollected the comedy track between Pawan and Ali in his telugu directorial debut “Khushi”.But unfortunately it didn’t go well this time.

Technical Aspects:

S.J Surya was successful in presenting the Power Star Pawan Kalyan in a really power packed role as a serious IPS officer. He played a little spoil sport in scripting the story to perfection. Story lacked the tempo in first half, which only gained the momentum 20 minutes before the interval. Script work could have been a little crispy as it was there in the second half, though its not worth mentioning about the climax. S.J.Surya seems to have fully concentrated only on mass centers audience, may be because of which he used the same old “Khushi” thread of glaring at the female lead’s midriff on a seductive note. Ofcourse, his purpose is solved as he is getting the acknowledgment from the crowd in the form of whistles and claps. Surya tried to make the film rich, which is of course seen in every frame of the movie. He made sure that, all the set properties are unique.Pawan kalyan’s office is an example to mention. But he could not come out of the commercial formula of injecting the songs in between irrespective of the need.Which definitely disturbs the concentration and the involvement of the audience who realizes themselves are getting connected to the story just then.

Talking about Binodh Pradhan’s cinematography, its as good as a Hollywood Film. He captured every shot beautifully. Few Dialouges in the moive are nail biting and carried the emotions of the characters to the core. Yeah…we didn’t discussed about one of the main pillars of the movie, none other than A.R.Rahman. His music is the main key, especially the R.R and background score while Pawan and Manoj Bajpayi are seen on the screen.

“Puli” in simple words:

A visual treat for all P.K fans….and a one time watch for all regular and general movie lovers.
