First Anushka, then Kajal, now Nayantara. What is going on with the princess roles? The script might demand such roles. Prior to Arundathi, I don’t recall any royal roles. Arundathi started this New trend and Magadheera added more intense to this. The more surprising is the type actresses playing these roles.
Kajal in Magadheera. Kajal was slim with less flesh. How ever playing a limited role as princess in Magadheera made up for that.Also, she embraced the role and put effort to highlight her acting skills over her stature. Most of her role was in the present time with current attire with modern outfits which suits her slim body perfectly
Anushka as princess in arundathi, She got perfect body to fit for the role as a queen. Her full pledged role in Arundathi was a treat to the eye. the grace and the stature were unbelievably remarkable.
Nayanthara with royal touch In Simha:
Nayantara is an actress with a modern touch. Making her play the role of royalty with traditional attire is appalling; let alone how she will carry the role. As the movie, Simha, has three heroines, Nayantara’s royal role might be limited. Yet, making a “fleshless” woman play such a role is dreadful.
It is going to take immense effort from Nayantara to play her role in Simha. From her recent movies, her physique was negatively looked upon. Her acting skills were not up to mark as well. We will have to wait till the movie releases to see her capabilities as an actress. In any case, hopefully the directors put a little more thought in to choose the right actresses for such roles.
