Actor Shivaji is turning producer with Taj Mahal, a remake of Kannada super hit by the same name. On his banner, Sri Shivaji Productions, he is producing it apart from acting in it. The film’s title logo was unveiled today (Friday, October 30, 2009) by Ramanaidu. As Ramanaidu earlier produced a super hit film with the same title, he was invited as special guest. Shruthi makes debut as heroine, while debutant Arun Singaraju is directing it. Music is by Abhiman.
Ramanaidu wished the team a very good success. “Taj Mahal, a film that I produced few years ago, was big hit. I wish Shivaji all the best as he is turning producer,” he said.
Shivaji said: “I turned producer because I loved the subject. When I bought the rights from Kannada producer, I thought Arun is the right person to remake it. I knew him during the shooting of ‘Indumati’. He studied filmmaking in America and has command over the medium. He did his job very well. We have finished the film and launching our music on November 2nd. Dasari Narayana Rao, TV9 Ravi Prakash and other celebrities are attending the function.”
Arun said: “Few years ago, I was happy enough meeting the stars, today I am directing a film. When Shivaji asked me to direct this film, I felt nervous in the initial stage even though I studied filmmaking and had enough experience. Shivaji gave me confidence to take up this project and today I can confidently say that this film would be one of the best films in Shivaji’s career.”
