Saleem, starring Manchu Vishnu and Ileana, has entered it’s final actuation schedule with a tentative release date set for Sankranthi. The flim is directed by YVS Chowdary (of Devdas fame) and produced by Mohan Babu under the Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner. This will be the 50th flim for the production company.
Tag line of the movie Saleem is Dhummu Leputhadu. According to sources, Mohan Babu is playing the main villain, and his character is named ‘Don’. Vishnu plays the titular character, while Ileana portrays a simple girl character, named ‘Satya’. Word is that Kaveri Jha (of Naa Girl Friend Baga Rich fame) will be second lead.
The flim was launched over a year ago, but was plagued by many extended deadlines. due to multiple changes to the script to make it more ‘appealing’ to the general audience (which is usually trade-talk for ‘masala’ elements).
Saleem will be the first major release under the production of Reliance Big Pictures, which partnered with Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures. The makers are hoping that the film’s success will pave the way for more corporate companies into flim production, which will be a giant step towards the way movies are made in the West. Not to mention the increase in funding and jobs.
The supporting cast for Saleem includes Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Ali, MS Narayana, Sunil, Venu Madhav and others.
As for the crew:
Sandeep Chowta is composing the music, C. Ramprasad is handling the cinematography, Kanal Kannan is choreographing the fights, Gopi Mohan and BVS Ravi are providing the news and YVS Chowdary is providing the news and screenplay in addition to directing.
As of now, shooting is slated to finish by the second week of November, with post-production work beginning in December. The audio launch is scheduled for December and the flick will be hitting the screen during Sankranthi.
